Providing the website
We use lima-city, a service offered by TrafficPlex GmbH, Konsul-Smidt-Str. 90, 28217 Bremen, Germany, for hosting. Full IP addresses, request times, URLs and browser information are processed to deliver the website, investigate errors and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our interest is reliable, secure operation.
The provider specifies up to 90 days for access logs, seven days for error logs and one day for short-term security analyses. Regular website/database backups remain for 90 days plus a few days for deletion. Hosting is in Frankfurt; backups are in Helsinki. See the hosting provider's privacy information.
Contact and orders by email or telephone
When you contact us, we process information you provide, such as your name, company, contact details, message and attached documents. We use it to handle your enquiry, prepare quotations and perform agreed services.
If you are personally a party to a contract with us or request steps towards such a contract, the necessary processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For company representatives and other business enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our legitimate interest is handling the matter and maintaining business communications. Legally required retention is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
You choose what information to provide. Without the information needed for a response or contract performance, we may be unable to handle the matter. An email link opens your email application and does not send a message automatically. Please send enquiries and orders by email or contact us by telephone. The contact form sends company name, contact person, email address, enquiry and optionally the required number of welding gap clips by email to verkauf@palige-schweisstechnik.de. No separate enquiry register or CRM database is maintained.
Retention of customer details and correspondence
We retain necessary customer details, particularly names and business contact, billing and delivery details, during an ongoing business relationship insofar as we need them to support the customer and handle further orders. This avoids collecting the same details again for each order. Where processing is necessary for a contract with you as an individual, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Otherwise, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest is providing reliable and efficient support for existing business relationships, provided that your interests or fundamental rights do not override that interest.
We regularly review whether these details remain necessary and accurate. We consider current orders, the most recent order or business contact, and concrete indications that the relationship is continuing. Previous customer status alone does not justify indefinite retention. When the details are no longer necessary, we delete them, subject to the retention grounds below.
Individual enquiries, emails and other correspondence are retained only for as long as necessary for the particular matter. A continuing customer relationship does not automatically mean that every previous message is retained.
Statutory retention obligations and necessary retention for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims remain unaffected. In those cases, further use is limited to that purpose, and the data are deleted when that retention ground also ceases to apply. The period depends on the document category, completion of the matter, and applicable retention or limitation rules.
Website features and external links
The website provides product information in German and English. External links open another provider's website only when you select them. That provider is responsible for processing on its website.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us using the details above to exercise your rights.
Objection: You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We then assess whether compelling legitimate grounds or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims justify continued processing. You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time without giving those grounds.
You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, work or an alleged infringement. In Schleswig-Holstein, contact the Independent Centre for Data Protection, Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.
Technical protection of the contact form
The form uses the technically necessary session cookie PALIGEFORM to prevent forged requests and accidental duplicate submissions. The cookie normally expires when the browser session ends. Random form tokens are valid for at most two hours; technical session data are cleaned up by the hosting session service. No enquiry text is stored in the session. For a 15-minute sending limit, the server uses a keyed hash of the connecting IP address and an attempt counter in a private temporary file. The form does not store the raw IP address in this file. Expired counters are removed on the next submission; hosting access logs are separate.
These measures serve secure and reliable communication under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The necessary session storage is used under section 25(2) TDDDG. A sending confirmation means acceptance by the mail service, not confirmed delivery to the inbox.
