Providing the website
We use lima-city, a service offered by TrafficPlex GmbH, Konsul-Smidt-Str. 90, 28217 Bremen, Germany, for hosting. Full IP addresses, request times, URLs and browser information are processed to deliver the website, investigate errors and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our interest is reliable, secure operation.
The provider specifies up to 90 days for access logs, seven days for error logs and one day for short-term security analyses. Regular website/database backups remain for 90 days plus a few days for deletion. Hosting is in Frankfurt; backups are in Helsinki. See the hosting provider's privacy information.
Contact, enquiries and orders
When you contact us, we process information you provide, such as your name, company, contact details, message and attached documents. We use it to handle your enquiry, prepare quotations and perform agreed services.
If you are personally a party to a contract with us or request steps towards such a contract, the necessary processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For company representatives and other business enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our legitimate interest is handling the matter and maintaining business communications. Legally required retention is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
The contact form lets you submit your company, contact person, email address and enquiry; the desired quantity of welding gap clips is optional. The other form fields are required. The form cannot be submitted without them. Alternatively, you can contact us by email or telephone. An email link opens your email application and does not send a message automatically.
The form forwards your details to the PALIGE sales email address for handling. The website does not maintain a separate enquiry register or CRM database. The submitted information then forms part of email correspondence, subject to the retention rules below. Technical acceptance for sending does not confirm receipt in the recipient’s inbox.
To protect against automated submissions, we use a time-limited form check, an additional checking field and a limit on sending attempts. This uses a check value derived from the IP address seen by the server and a secret server key; the form’s rate limit does not store that IP address in plain text. The check value and attempt counter apply for 15 minutes. A random form check value used to identify repeat submissions applies for up to two hours after technical acceptance for sending. Expired entries are removed by regular WordPress cleanup. The data is not intended to form a visitor profile. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our interest is preventing abuse and reliably handling enquiries. The separately described hosting logs are unaffected.
Retention of customer details and correspondence
We retain necessary customer details, particularly names and business contact, billing and delivery details, during an ongoing business relationship insofar as we need them to support the customer and handle further orders. This avoids collecting the same details again for each order. Where processing is necessary for a contract with you as an individual, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Otherwise, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest is providing reliable and efficient support for existing business relationships, provided that your interests or fundamental rights do not override that interest.
We regularly review whether these details remain necessary and accurate. We consider current orders, the most recent order or business contact, and concrete indications that the relationship is continuing. Previous customer status alone does not justify indefinite retention. When the details are no longer necessary, we delete them, subject to the retention grounds below.
Individual enquiries, emails and other correspondence are retained only for as long as necessary for the particular matter. A continuing customer relationship does not automatically mean that every previous message is retained.
Statutory retention obligations and necessary retention for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims remain unaffected. In those cases, further use is limited to that purpose, and the data are deleted when that retention ground also ceases to apply. The period depends on the document category, completion of the matter, and applicable retention or limitation rules.
Website features and external links
The website provides product information in German and English. External links open another provider's website only when you select them. That provider is responsible for processing on its website.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us using the details above to exercise your rights.
Objection: You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We then assess whether compelling legitimate grounds or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims justify continued processing. You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time without giving those grounds.
You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, work or an alleged infringement. In Schleswig-Holstein, contact the Independent Centre for Data Protection, Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.
Restricted editing area
Authorised users can edit content through a protected WordPress account. We process usernames, email addresses, permissions and associated edits for access administration, website maintenance and traceability of changes. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and orderly website administration. Account details are needed only while access remains authorised, subject to necessary records and statutory retention obligations.
WordPress uses cookies to check cookie support and authenticate users during login and administration sessions. These enable the protected access expressly requested by the user. Where strictly necessary for this service, storing or accessing them is based on section 25(2), no. 2 TDDDG. Login requires cookies; visiting the public product pages does not require an editing account. Login duration depends in particular on whether “Remember me” is selected. You can log out at any time.
